Scott E. Brooks was born February 26, 1963 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas to Don and Jackie Brooks, and reared in their Christian home. He was born again April 4, 1971, at the age of seven, when he trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He was baptized by the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Siloam Springs on April 11 that same year. In May of 1991 Bro. Brooks answered God’s call into the Gospel ministry at the age of twenty-eight and entered the Missionary Baptist Seminary at Little Rock, Arkansas, that fall, earning a Bachelor of Bible Languages degree in 1995.
Also in 1995, Bro. Brooks was called to his first pastorate by the Pine Top Missionary Baptist Church of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and was ordained to the Gospel ministry by the church of his membership, Liberty Missionary Baptist Church of Little Rock.
Bro. Brooks has served four churches since he was ordained and entered upon the active ministry: Pine Top Missionary Baptist Church, Broken Bow, Oklahoma (Pastor, September 3, 1995 to September 30, 2001); Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Malvern, Arkansas (Pastor, October 17, 2001 to July 3, 2005); Tulare Missionary Baptist Church, Tulare, California (Associate Pastor & Seminary Instructor, July 17, 2005 to September 12, 2010); Grace Missionary Baptist Church, Livermore, California (Pastor, September 5, 2010 to present).
While serving the Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Bro. Brooks seized an opportunity to further his formal Bible education by once again attending the Missionary Baptist Seminary. He began his graduate studies there in the Spring of 2002, earning both Master of Bible Languages and Master of Theology degrees in May of 2003. Then, while serving the Tulare Missionary Baptist Church, he was invited to enter the Doctoral program of the Tulare Missionary Baptist Seminary where he earned the Doctor of Theology degree, which was conferred by that institution on September 26, 2008.
On March 5, 1983, Bro. Brooks married his first and only wife, Sandra Lynne (Sandy) Haddock. God has blessed their marriage and given them four daughters: Rachel, Chloe, Emma, and Molly.
